Sustainability Mission (How we do it)
The Sustainability Mission of the APIIT Education Group are based on the foundations of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Sustainability.
The APIIT Education Group :
Is committed to energy efficiency through:
- Using environmentally safe and sustainable energy sources through:
- Using energy efficient equipment and resources
- Providing staff with laptops with high energy rating
- Power management
Takes steps to ensure that our activities/processes have minimal impact on the environment through:
- Adopt suitable technology to reduce wastage
- Educating staff on environmental impact matters
Plans and uses resources efficiently so as to avoid wastages, both physical and financial through:
- Optimisation of lighting and air-conditioning resources through smart timetabling and scheduling
- Power management
- Upkeep & maintenance of company vehicles
Manages resource waste through :
- Reuse of scrap paper
- Reuse of partitioning boards, glass, wood for renovations and refurbishment
- Reuse of building material e.g. gypsum partitions, glass panels, doors
- Acquiring used or pre-owned furniture that is cost-effective and meets the needs of the organization & fitness for use.
- Purchasing new furniture and fittings that balances value, sustainable use and cost.
- Use of recycled material such as recycled printer and fax toners
Disposes waste through safe and responsible manner through:
- Regular and routine collection and disposal of waste at designated waste disposal sites
Uses suitable technology resources to minimize the impact on the environment through:
- Adopting a paperless environment
- Providing Cloud & Wireless computing resources
- On-line storage and access of key documents
Plans physical facilities so as to minimize resource wastage, both physical and human resources through :
- Optimising space on a needs basis. Design floor plan for current need and build in future needs for the long-term.
